Resident TAX – La Renta

As a resident tax payer in Spain you will be taxed for your worldwide income and will be obliged to file income tax returns. If you work in Spain, you are required to file an income tax declaration every year.

If you have more than one source of income (salaries or pensions) and you receive over 12.000€ in income, you are obliged to file a tax return. 

It may be in your interest to file a tax return when your earnings are below the threshold.  There further advantages of being a fiscal resident in Spain especially on the application of Inheritance Tax.

Normally, the draft income tax declarations issued by the Hacienda are usually correct. However, it is the responsibility of the taxpayer to ensure that all of the information contained is correct and to modify them where necessary and to add any missing information.
